Veteran dance artist Daniel Yeung revisits his site-specific, multi-media solo dance classic that challenges our imagination of performance space, inviting the audience to view the theatre from a new angle and to meet his body bearing the imprints of time.

​Presented as the opening programme of the Freespace Dance 2024, a selection of cutting-edge works exploring concepts of time and space, local veteran dance artist Daniel Yeung revisits his solo dance series Dance / Dan’s Exhibitionist. In collaboration with new media artists from Hong Kong and Taiwan, he presents Freespace Dance-exhibitionist, a new work conceptualised and created  for The Box at Freespace, which is known for its boundary-pushing performance experience, at the fifth anniversary of its opening.

Sze Yin, a 40-year-old Hong Kong resident, specialises in innovation and has been attracting international attention with his invention of a new technology. He met Linlin at a technology exhibition in Berlin. Linlin was born in Xi'an and moved to the United States at the age of sixteen, completing her undergraduate studies in London. The second time they met in Berlin, they fell in love. However, when Shih Hsien had to return to Hong Kong for work, they could only maintain a long-distance relationship. ......

Three months after her return to Hong Kong, Yixin took the initiative to meet Sze Yin. They studied in the same secondary school and became acquainted because they often went to the same study room to study. When Sze Yin was 25 years old, he was once trapped in a self-constructed life and death trap, and in the end, it was Yee Sum who saved him. Now, Yixin is married with a five-year-old child, and they still have a lot of things to say that have not yet been said, but must be said, and Shih Hsien is about to leave for the new Berlin Science and Technology Fair. ......

How can Sze Yin reconcile his hopes and losses in the face of this eternal return to the past?

The second instalment of the tripartite A Concise History of Future, Posthuman Condition investigates our new era of technological warfare, when AI dominates everything. What will happen to human beings and their survival? This work was invited to the “Teaser Pitching Stückemarkt” at Germany’s Theater Dortmund and the German-language# Posthuman Condition received its world premiere at the Schauspiel Frankfurt in 2021.

Frank is an ordinary man living in a developed country. By pure coincidence, he became a remote pilot, sitting in the comfort of his home and using his gaming skills to launch airstrikes in other countries. When his son Another is born, the baby doesn’t have a buttock! His wife Jane recounts a legend from the East about redemption… Frank resolves to visit the places he has destroyed and the people he’s wounded.

A cyber-buttock has been appended to Another to save his life, yet there are side effects: the baby grows ten times faster than any normal boy, he is also bestowed with paranormal powers. Is Another a harbinger for future generations or an exemplar of the epic failure of technology? House Author at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, Yan Pat-to returns to his hometown with this production.

McMuiMui is a local dance duo founded by dancer-choreographers Abby Chan and Waimei Yeung. The duo made their marks in the world as early as in the 2000s, and has gone on hiatus for the last decade to pursue different paths in America. Celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2019, McMuiMui reunites in rejoice at their hometown, reprising their iconic humour and style – after 10 years of ripening, transformation and reflection. It is about the duo’s lives, Hong Kong, identity, age and gender from both the personal and universal perspective. The work is set to unveil the weirdest facets of Hong Kong urban life and its funny anecdotes, lifting the exuberant femininity effortlessly.

Two people from the nuclear explosion affected area. She speaks, he can’t. He once witnessed a person being choked to death by the broken pieces of his organs; then he often has the feeling to be choked. They come here to introduce another face of post nuclear explosion. In there, the nature grows freely, flowers blossom. Green is the warmest colour. Animals lead their lives happily. But they can’t use conditioners and lotions in order not to be contaminated by radioactivity elements. Apart from these, nothing is not fine for living there. The show has been presented in Hong Kong, Korea and CINARS 2021

A thought of millions of people, reverses South and North Connected fates are the journeys swallowed by you and me…

A country on the brink of civil war. Two generations, two cities, two opposite journeys. Time levels divide and intermingle.

It's now. A man who witnesses pain loves watching musicals, but he doesn't know how to dance, sing and act. One night, he saw a chorus girl -- the sinister girl -- who's not exceptionally beautiful in a show at the national theatre in the capital in the north; nevertheless, he couldn't take his eyes off her. Hence, he kept going back to the same show next night. The third night, the fourth, and numerous nights. On the last night, he told her his feeling. The sinister girl promised to be with him, nonetheless, he had to sacrifice his ability to see. This deal was set because of her family history. Then they had to flee from north to the south ......

It's future. The outsider held a box and destined to travel to the north from the south though he didn't know the content of the box, though everyone was fleeing from the north to the south. In the journey, he came across with various incompleted subjects: The white bone lady, The man without heart beat, The cat with a hole, The chairman ......

The two time lines are seemingly parallel, but is the 'reality' real?

Premiered in 2000 at the Hong Kong One Man Theatre, and having travelled to Beijing, Bangkok and Poland for 17 years, Between In and Out will be revived in 2017 as a narrative adventure that combines the senses of body, music, sound, installation and vision! In addition to the soulful director Zhang Yisheng, and the original Hong Kong stage and costume designer Tsang Man-tong, the four creators are joined by Malaysian original music composer Wong Chor-yuen and Taiwanese lighting designer and installation artist Tsang Yen-ting, as they face the problem of how to find a real, honest-to-goodness place to live in the accelerating imbalance of daily life in an era where every move leads to the whole world.
